Dr. Kimberly Vay, EdD, LPC, CPCS, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, and a leading expert in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma treatment.
With over 20 years of clinical and leadership experience, she has helped individuals with complex, high-risk challenges across diverse treatment settings. Her approach combines the highest standards of evidence-based practice with genuine compassion and respect for each person’s unique story.
As President of the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification and a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician™, Dr. Vay is dedicated to advancing clinical excellence in DBT while helping clients build lives that feel connected and worth living.
Dr. Vay serves as a Trainer-in-Training with Behavioral Tech Institute and provides consultation, supervision, and training to clinicians and organizations nationwide.
In addition to her extensive clinical and leadership experience, Dr. Vay has completed advanced training in Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), DBT Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE), DBT-PTSD, DBT for Children (DBT-C), and Theraplay® Levels I and II. This ongoing professional development supports her commitment to delivering evidence-based, highly individualized care for children, adolescents, and adults with complex clinical needs.
